handmade in UK using:
1. refashioned and recycled glass disc beads handmade in Ghana
2. brass beads/bar from Ghana’s Ashanti, handmade using the ancient metal casting technique, ‘lost wax’.
3. antique Tibetan brass-coloured findings
4. Strong German Griffin brand beading elastic
about 6.5 inches long
I only make one of each, don’t miss out!
stretchy and comfy, just slip it on and off, mindful of the bar, (best to hold bar in one hand and slip it carefully on to/off other hand)
The bar has the Sankofa bird symbol on it and is the second of two Adinkra symbols which translates “return and get it”, ie. the importance of learning from the past and sticking to the good things in one’s culture and history.
**Adinkra are visual symbols from the Akan tribes of Ghana and Cote d’Ivoire in West Africa. They represent concepts, original thoughts, and popular proverbs in easily memorable form. They’re also a record of historical events and express traditional attitudes.
